Archbishop’s Columbus Day Breakfast
Archbishop Leonard P. Blair, FACS Executive Director Cynthia Basil Howard, 2017 Guest Speaker Lt. General Ronald S. Coleman
A big THANK YOU to all who attended and supported the Archbishop’s Columbus Day Breakfast. We were entertained and inspired by the words of guest speaker Lt. General Ronald S. Coleman who shared his conviction and advice that “If it is to be, it’s up to me!” Student speaker Dominick “Nucci” Delaney encouraged guests to “be your best self”, words of wisdom spoken to him by his mother each day as he went off to school. Each of the benefiting schools spotlighted a superstar student who was recognized both in person before all our guests as well as in the program book. Each student is a wonderful example of the many blessings of a Catholic education and we are all so proud of them! We were entertained by student choir singers and all enjoyed the opportunity for camaraderie while supporting Catholic elementary schools in the New Haven area. Although final figures are not in yet, it appears the net proceeds of the Breakfast, together with a match from Archdiocese of Hartford, will generate approximately $70,000 available for scholarship assistance at the 10 benefiting Catholic elementary schools. FACS extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who made the Archbishop’s Columbus Day Breakfast a success!!
