Waterbury Catholic School Students to Benefit from Trust

Hartford, Conn.

The Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools (FACS) in Bloomfield has received $4000.00 dollars from the Ruth Sanger Conant Trust, a Bank of America Trustee, to help provide scholarships to Catholic students who attend: St. Mary, SS. Peter and Paul, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Day and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel elementary schools in Waterbury.

FACS will utilize the trust to provide two students at each school (for a total of eight students) with a $500.00 dollar scholarship. The criteria to receive the scholarship will be based on academic performance as well as financial need.

“The ability to help students with scholarships in order to provide them with a faith-based and quality education that will serve them for the rest of their lives is what FACS is all about,” said Executive Director of FACS Cynthia Basil Howard. “Thank you to the Ruth Sanger Conant Trust for their support and generosity.”

FACS supports Catholic students across the Archdiocese. It is grants, donations from generous individuals and businesses, special events and planned gifts that make this work possible, continued Howard, who is proud of what FACS has been able to accomplish for its Catholic students.
