Our History

41 Years of Service

41 Years of Service

Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools was founded in 1983 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to helping homeless individuals. Since then, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving hundreds of individuals each year.

We are committed to help as many students as we can. We are also committed to building a strong endowment which will be a significant source of support to our non-profit Foundation and the schools of the Archdiocese of Hartford making FACS an excellent repository for those whose wish to give a lasting gift in support of Catholic education in the Archdiocese.

what we do

We know we make a difference in student's lives!

Just see how far one of our FACS recipients has progressed and is paying it forward helping others halfway around the world .  FACS is honored to have touched his life so deeply.

Congratulations to FACS recipient Martin!

Season 14 American Idol winner and former catholic school al

FACS extends a sincere "thank you" to former Catholic School alumnus and Season 14 American Idol winner Nick Fradiani for sending us a special video message to share.  We were so happy to welcome Nick's parents as our guests at the 2019 Columbus Day Breakfast.  We hope Nick's words of encouragement and gratitude for the solid foundation his years in Catholic School gave him resonates with all of our students.

"Having attended both Catholic and public schools, I saw first-hand the stark and real cultural difference between the two.... Catholic schools provide our youth a "values-based" top quality education that prepares them to meet both educational and personal challenges.  This is why I support FACS, a Foundation which makes this education a reality for so many."
